Tomorrow Studios has revealed plans to acquire the Tess Monaghan books, written by Laura Lippman, to adapt for television.
The 12-book series follows reporter-turned-private investigator Tess Monaghan in her pursuits around Baltimore’s diverse neighborhoods. Lippman and author Megan Abbott (Queenpin, The Turnout) will co-write the series adaptation.
The series will be executive produced by Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, CEO and partner; Becky Clements, president and partner; and Alissa Bachner, executive VP. Lippman and Abbott will also serve as executive producers.
“Tess Monaghan is an iconic character, and we are thrilled that Laura has entrusted us to help tell her story,” Adelstein, Clements and Bachner said. “We couldn’t imagine a better team than Laura and Megan, both masters of crime storytelling, to bring this series to life.”
