House Productions alum Harriet Spencer has joined Neal Street as executive producer, where she will help build the company’s slate of original TV projects.

In Neal Street’s newly created role, she will work closely with senior management to identify new voices, contribute new ideas and help continue the company’s legacy of producing high-quality content. She will work alongside Julie Pastor and Lola Oliyide to contribute to film and television development and production activity.

With over 20 years of experience, Spencer has a large portfolio of high-profile projects. At House Productions, she led James Graham’s Sherwood for BBC, The Good Mothers for Disney+ and had a development producer credit on Daniel Kokotajlo’s Starve Acre.

In her early career at Working Title Films, she worked on many films, including Baby Driver, Bridget Jones’s Baby, Mary Queen of Scots, Darkest Hour, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Les Misérables.

This year, Neal Street has announced that production has commenced on season 15 of Call the Midwife, in co-production with PBS, and films The Magic Faraway Tree and Hamnet, which are in postproduction. The company is also working with Sony Pictures on the new series of Beatles biopics. On the theater side, the company has wrapped up record runs of The Lehman Trilogy and The Hills of California.

“Harriet’s exceptional taste, passion for story and track record of championing bold, original work make her an ideal addition to the team,” said Pippa Harris, co-founder of Neal Street.

Nicolas Brown, director of film and TV, commented, “With so much production across both film and TV, this is an incredibly important time for our company. Having someone with Harriet’s qualities to support us throughout this busy period and beyond will help us grow our slate further and shepherd Neal Street into the future.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team for this exciting new chapter—I have long admired Neal Street’s creative excellence and commitment to telling authored stories that resonate both locally and internationally,” said Spencer.

In 2015, Neal Street moved under the umbrella of parent company All3Media, which is owned by RedBird IMI.
