All3Media International has already secured a host of sales worldwide for the first two seasons of Van der Valk. Deals have been signed with Discovery (Italy), France Televisions (France), NRK (Norway), TV2 (Denmark), TV4 (Sweden), HRT (Croatia) and Canal Cosmopolitan (Spain). It has also been acquired by NHK (Japan), ViuTVsix (Hong Kong), ABC (Australia), Sky (New Zealand), DirecTV (Latin America) and BBC Global Channels (Africa).

Michele Buck, CEO at Company Pictures, commented, “We’re delighted that this new season order of Van der Valk has been confirmed by our fantastic co-production partners and can’t wait to return to the streets of Amsterdam to investigate more intriguing cases. Chris’s expertise at weaving complex murder mysteries into a storyline infused with warmth, wit and camaraderie is second-to-none, and it’s an honor to have three more installments within which we can delve further into the world of Commissaris Van der Valk and his team.”

Louise Pedersen, CEO at All3Media International, added, “With its high production values, suspenseful storylines and beautiful backdrops, Van der Valk has quickly established itself as a standout success globally, and we’re thrilled to reunite with our co-production partners on a brand-new season. Long-running premium dramas are always high on the wish list for our clients, so this new season commission will allow us to build on Van der Valk’s international appeal even further.”

Sebastian Lückel, head of acquisitions and co-production at ARD Degeto, commented, “We are very happy with the development of Van der Valk and thrilled to go into a third season with such great partners. The mixture of exciting crime cases that incorporate socially relevant topics, with witty dialogues, in front of a beautiful but sometimes murderous Amsterdam is highly entertaining and a testament to Chris’s unique writing and the great cast.”

MASTERPIECE Executive Producer Susanne Simpson said, “MASTERPIECE is delighted to have Van der Valk as one of our favorite ongoing mystery series. Our audience thoroughly enjoys the show’s intriguing stories, dry wit, and stunning locations. We look forward to working with our terrific co-production partners on season three.”
