The CW Network has picked up the Canadian drama series Family Law, distributed by Entertainment One (eOne), for the U.S.

Produced by SEVEN24 Films and Lark Productions for Corus Entertainment’s Global, the series follows a lawyer and recovering alcoholic who is struggling to put her career and family back together after hitting rock bottom.

Family Law is created, written and executive produced by award-winning author Susin Nielsen (Degrassi). SEVEN24’s Jordy Randall (Heartland) and Tom Cox (Fortunate Son), and Lark’s Erin Haskett (Motive) and Andy Mikita (Stargate SG-1) also serve as executive producers.

The series originally premiered in Canada in 2021 and was the highest rated new Canadian scripted series of the year, giving Global its biggest Friday 9 p.m. audience in over 18 months.

eOne has already licensed the series to broadcasters in more than 150 territories worldwide, including 9Network (Australia), Sky (Italy), NBCUniversal (LatAm), Globo (Brazil) and TV 2 (Norway).
