The original SYFY series The Ark has been picked up by Sky in the U.K., where it is slated to launch on Sky Sci-Fi next month.

The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The 12-episode series debuted in the U.S. on February 1 and was SYFY’s best series premiere among total viewers in two years.

Sonia Mehandjiyska, head of international distribution at Electric Entertainment, said: “We’re happy that Sky TV and their audience continue to find the high entertainment value of our productions. Our long-lasting partnership proves that Electric Entertainment programming is diverse, boundaryless and really speaks to our neighbors across the pond.”

The Ark season one finale airs on April 19 on SYFY, with all available episodes streaming on Peacock. The series has also been sold in Spain, France, Portugal, the Balkans, Romania, Poland and Germany.
