Paramount+ has slated the premiere of the Australian drama One Night for September 1.

Starring Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who), Nicole da Silva (Wentworth) and Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), the six-part series tells the story of three women whose bond was nearly destroyed by a traumatic event 20 years prior. When da Silva’s character begins to write a novel about the event, it becomes hard to separate fact from fiction and unravel their different memories.

One Night was created and written by Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor, The PM’s Daughter). It is produced by Easy Tiger and Motive Pictures, with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Paramount+.

Easy Tiger’s Ian Collie, Rob Gibson and Ally Henville (Colin From Accounts, The Twelve) serve as producers, while Motive Pictures’ Simon Maxwell (The Woman in the Wall, Get Millie Black), Paramount+’s Sophia Mogford and Ballou are executive producers.

Fifth Season is handling international sales.
