Paramount+ has renewed the high-stakes medical drama SkyMed for a nine-episode third season, with production beginning March 25.

Produced by Piazza Entertainment in association with CBC and CBS Studios, the series follows the stories of the medics and pilots flying air ambulances in the skies of remote Northern Canada. Season three follows the aftermath of season two, which saw mounting pressure threaten to tear apart the tight-knit SkyMed team.

Returning for season three are series regulars Natasha Calis (Nurses), Morgan Holmstrom (Outlander), Praneet Akilla (Nancy Drew), Mercedes Morris (Ghosts), Thomas Elms (The Boys In The Boat), Kheon Clarke (Riverdale) and Sydney Kuhne (Ginny & Georgia). Aaron Ashmore (Ginny & Georgia) has been upped to series regular. Returning in recurring roles are “Ace” Aason Nadjiwon (The Twilight Zone) and Emilia McCarthy (Zombies). Braeden Clarke (Outlander) will return as a guest star.

Anthony Grant (Star Trek: Discovery, Polar) and Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent) join the cast.

SkyMed is created by Julie Puckrin and was inspired by her sister and brother-in-law, who met flying air ambulances. Paramount Global Content Distribution handles international distribution of the series, which airs on CBC in Canada and on Paramount+ in the U.S.
