One Life Studios has sold the historical drama series Porus to the broadcaster Alfa TV in Macedonia.

Porus tells the story of King Alexander and his journey towards India that leads to the battle of Hydaspus in 326 BC, with the titular Indian King ultimately stopping Alexander from entering India. Though Alexander wins the battle, recognizing King Porus’ bravery, he decides to leave India and return to his homeland of Macedonia. Through the deal with Alfa TV, Porus will have entered 12 countries and 14 territories.

Rahul Kumar Tewary, One Life Studios managing director, said: “In Indian shows, there’s hardly ever a portrayal of a foreign land. For the first time, we showed the journey of Alexander the Great from Macedonia to India, and viewers all across have loved it. With Porus we have tried to break boundaries and we are glad that this series now enters the land of Alexander. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest and known warriors of his time, I am sure the people of Macedonia will enjoy the story of his legendary battle with the Indian King Porus.”
