New Programming Coming to MHz Choice

MHz Choice has set a fall lineup that features a variety of international series, including Israel’s Queens.

When all the men in one of Israel’s most prominent crime families are assassinated, the women are left to pick up the pieces and fight for their rightful place in a masculine world to resurrect the family business. The series, in Hebrew but subtitled in English, will land on MHz Choice on September 19.

Queens stars Rita (A Thousand and One Wives), Dana Ivgy (Zero Motivation, Autonomies), Mali Levi (Atomic Falafel) and Lihi Kornowski (Losing Alice, Crimes of the Future). It is distributed by Banijay Rights.

Another fall highlight is The Island of 30 Coffins, a French limited series based on the novel by Maurice LeBlanc. Starring Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach, Nona and Her Daughters), Charles Berling (Captain Marleau) and Stanley Weber (Outlander, Berlin Station), the series follows Christine, a woman who believed she lost her son at birth 15 years prior. When she receives a video suggesting he might not be dead, she returns to her home island, where a series of deaths stirs up terror and a local prophecy of the 30 Coffins.

The Island of 30 Coffins, distributed by Beta Film, is slated to drop on MHz Choice on November 7.

On November 14, Paris Police 1905, a follow-up to Paris Police 1900, is set to bow on the streamer. Inspired by real events, the series follows Inspector Antoine Jouin in a new investigation. On Christmas Eve in 1904, he investigates a case that takes him deep into Paris’s secret underbelly: the forest on the outskirts of the city, where people satisfy their darkest desires. Distributed by STUDIOCANAL, the French series stars Jérémie Laheurte (Paris Police 1900, Blue is the Warmest Color), Evelyne Brochu (Paris Police 1900, Orphan Black) and Thibaut Evrard (Paris Police 1900, Before We Collapse).

The upcoming slate also includes the Danish series The Horses of Wildenstein, in which a horse whisperer returns home after 13 years at odds with her mother and siblings in order to save her family’s equestrian estate. Nele Trebs (Dark, Lore), Klara Deutschmann (Tatort) and Helmfried von Lüttichau (Hubert ohne Staller) star in the series, which will drop on MHz Choice on December 5. Beta Film handles distribution.
