BBC Unveils The Famous Five Adaptation Details

BBC has revealed the cast of The Famous Five, an adaptation of Enid Blyton’s book series of the same name co-produced with ZDF.

Diaana Babnicova, Elliott Rose, Kit Rakusen, Flora Jacoby Richardson and Kip, a Bearded Collie mix, play the five daring explorers who encounter action-packed adventures filled with mysteries, danger and secrets. The cast also includes Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones) and James Lance (Ted Lasso).

Ann Akinjirin (Moon Knight, I May Destroy You) and Diana Quick (Father Brown, Forever Young, Houdini and Doyle) also star.

The first episode of The Famous Five is directed by Tim Kirkby (Fleabag, The Pentaverate) and produced by Moonage Pictures and byNWR Originals. Asim Abbasi (Churails, Cake, Count Abdulla) is director of the second episode, and Bill Eagles (Beautiful Creatures, Gotham, Pennyworth) is director of the third.

Nicolas Winding Refn, Matthew Read, Will Gould, Frith Tiplady, Kirkby, Christina Bostofte Erritzøe, Kimberly Willming and Matthew Bouch.

BBC Studios, which has a minority stake in Moonage, is overseeing international distribution.
