Netflix Renews Rob Lowe’s Unstable

Netflix has ordered a second season of Unstable, co-created and executive produced by Rob Lowe, who also stars.

The show centers on a universally admired, eccentric, narcissistic biotech entrepreneur in an emotional free fall whose estranged son is the complete opposite from him. In addition to Rob, John Owen Lowe, Sian Clifford, Rachel Marsh, Emma Ferreira and Aaron Branch will return.

Unstable was created by Rob, John Owen and Victor Fresco. Andrew Gurland (Married, Platonic) joins season two as showrunner and executive producer. Rob, John Owen and Sean Clements also serve as executive producers, along with Claire Scanlon, who also directs.

Production on the new eight-episode season is slated to begin in Los Angeles later this month.

“It’s a dream come true for us to jump back into the world of Unstable,” Rob and John Owen said. “Here’s to season two and the many hours of family therapy that we will need along the way.”
