Ku’damm 56 to Be Continued on ZDF

MAINZ: ZDF and production company UFA are working on a continuation of the successful three-part miniseries Ku’damm 56 that is tentatively titled Ku’damm 59.

ZDF and UFA are collaborating with screenwriter Annette Hess. The same venue and cast have been secured to continue the story of Caterina Schöllack and her three daughters during the 1950s. ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) will handle global distribution for the new production as it did with Ku’damm 56, which aired on ZDF in March 2016 and has been sold into a number of territories.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO of ZDFE, remarked: “As the global distributor, we are really looking forward to continuing this high-profile production. Its success story only shows the growing international importance of German series and it will now continue in the future with these new episodes.”
