Korea’s tvN to Remake Designated Survivor

Among the titles unveiled for tvN’s 2019 drama lineup is a remake of the U.S. series Designated Survivor.

Designated Survivor originally ran for two seasons on ABC in the U.S. The political drama, which stars Kiefer Sutherland, was revived by Netflix for a third season.

Also coming to tvN are the crime thriller Confession, the drama Abyss, the romance series Her Private Life and the fantasy drama WWW. There’s another season of Asdal Chronicles, which is a Korean historical fantasy drama, as well.

The Crowned Clown, a remake of the box-office megahit Masquerade, debuted in January, reaching peak ratings of 7.5 percent. Scheduled to air after the suspense romance series Memories of the Alhambra, Romance is a Bonus Book stars Lee Na-young and Lee Jong-seok. Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na, who played the lovable yet tragic couple in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, reunite for Touch Your Heart. The long-running series Ugly Miss Young-Ae is returning with a 17th season. Coming in March is The Psychometric Guy, a romantic thriller.
