Keshet International Developing Spanish-Language Thriller

Keshet International (KI) and Sr. Mono Producciones are developing a Spanish-language crime thriller series, Alone (working title), with veteran film and TV writer Curro Royo attached to the project.

The series follows as the country’s most prestigious lawyer takes on an impossible case of a woman who is charged with murdering her lover, his wife and their 8-year-old child, and succeeds in getting her acquitted. Over the course of the trial, they unwittingly fall in love and proceed to get married and have a child together. Ten years later, he realizes that his wife may have been guilty after all.

Royo has been a film and TV writer for more than 20 years and was formerly head of the Spanish Writer’s Guild (until this month). He wrote on TVE’s long-running drama Cuéntame Cómo Pasó for ten seasons and his feature films include the critically acclaimed El Club de Los Suicidas (2007) and El Arte de Morir (2000).
