The Australian producer Kate Dennis, who has been working in the U.S., is on board to direct Hoodlum Entertainment’s new crime drama Harrow.

Dennis’s Australian directing credits include the original Secrets and Lies series, Party Tricks, Offspring (seasons one through five) and Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles to direct the U.S. remake of Secrets and Lies, followed by episodes of CSI: Cyber for CBS and AMC’s Turn. Her most recent directing credits include stints on U.S. series such as The Handmaid’s Tale for Hulu, as well as I’m Dying Up Here, Preacher, Fear the Walking Dead, The Mindy Project, Sleepy Hollow and Suits.

Also returning to Australia to produce the series is Hoodlum’s L.A.-based Tracey Robertson, who will produce with fellow Hoodlum founding partner Nathan Mayfield.

The ten-part Harrow is being done for Australian broadcaster ABC and for Disney-owned ABC Studios International. The drama is set in the world of forensic pathology. It has been co-created by writer Stephen M. Irwin and producer Leigh McGrath, who will produce with Robertson and Mayfield.

Robertson commented: “Kate is immensely talented and in huge demand in the U.S. She will bring that wealth of international experience to her work on Harrow.”

Dennis added: “I am thrilled to be returning to Australia to work with the formidably talented team at Hoodlum once more! Secrets and Lies took us all on a wonderful journey to the U.S., but it’s such a great feeling to be home and working together again on Harrow.”
