Hypewriter Returns for 2024

Paprika Studios and RTL Hungary have kicked off the 2024 Hypewriter competition, now in its sixth year.

The competition has revised its entry criteria, now requiring submissions to reflect current trends in television in CEE, be set in the present day, belong to a defined genre with wide appeal and include character descriptions in the packages. The winner will receive €10,000 in prize money and a chance to develop a script and have a pilot episode produced for broadcast by RTL Hungary.

The selection process will take place in two rounds. In the first round, Paprika Studios and RTL will select the 15 best entries, whose creators will take part in an online workshop and a semifinal; in the second round, eight to ten people will be selected to present their ideas to the jury at a live pitch forum in Budapest in October 2024.

Participants can submit from all over the world. Submissions will close on July 30.
