Hulu has acquired the exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the award-winning Israeli espionage thriller False Flag in a deal with Keshet International (KI).

The series, which sees five ordinary citizens implicated in a high-profile kidnapping, currently has a second season in production. False Flag will join KI’s Hebrew-language Prisoners of War—upon which Showtime’s Emmy-winning series Homeland is based—on Hulu.

Following its Israeli success, the show was aired successfully by Canal+ in France and then sold to Fox Networks Group in a deal that included all territories excluding the U.S.

“Dramas with compelling storylines travel well regardless of the language, as Hulu has demonstrated once again with its acquisition of False Flag in the U.S.,” said Keren Shahar, COO and president of distribution for KI. “We are very happy to continue our relationship with Hulu with this premium series, which has attracted strong worldwide sales across multiple TV and digital platforms.”
