Helen Hunt, Richard Dreyfuss Join FOX Event Series

LOS ANGELES: FOX’s upcoming event series Shots Fired has cast Helen Hunt, Richard Dreyfuss and Stephen Moyer in lead roles.

The series will explore the aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small town in North Carolina. It was created by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood and is being produced by Undisputed Cinema and Imagine Television, in association with 20th Century Fox Television. It will air this year.

Hunt has been cast as Patricia Eamons, the fictional governor of North Carolina, with Dreyfuss as a real-estate mogul who owns a privatized prison that is involved in the shootings. Moyer will portray a veteran officer from the local Sheriff’s department. The show also stars Sanaa Lathan as an investigator and Stephan James as a special prosecutor.
