Glenn Close Joins Movistar Plus+’s La bola negra

Glenn Close (Damages, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) has joined the cast of La bola negra, an original film by Movistar Plus+ and Suma Content Films.

Written, directed and produced by Spanish filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, the film takes its title from an unfinished work by Federico García Lorca. It will follow the interconnected lives of three men in three different eras, linked by sexuality, desire, pain and inheritance.

La bola negra is co-produced with El Deseo and Le Pacte. It will be released in Spanish cinemas by distributor Elastica. Goodfellas will handle international sales.

“We are really happy to confirm Glenn Close as part of La bola negra’s cast,” Calvo and Ambrossi said. “It will be an honor to work with such a legend—an actress we had always admired. She read the project and fell in love with it. We are in love with her.”
