Diane Lane Joins FX’s Y Pilot

Diane Lane is the latest addition to Y, an FX drama pilot based on DC Comics’ Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra.

Lane joins an ensemble cast that includes Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield and Marin Ireland. Michael Green and Aïda Mashaka Croal are showrunners on the FX Productions project, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world after a cataclysmic event has killed every male mammal save for one lone human. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force and Brian K. Vaughan are executive producers—alongside Green and Croal—and developed the series. The 60-issue science fiction comic book series Y: The Last Man received three Eisner Awards and the first Hugo Award for best graphic story.
