Finnish Bestseller Hildur Gets TV Adaptation

Take Two Studios, Sagafilm and Story House Pictures have teamed up to adapt the best-selling Finnish novel Hildur as a thriller and character-driven relationship drama for television.

Commissioned by Nelonen Media as a Ruutu original in Finland, Hildur follows as a detective fights against time to confront a serial killer in the fjords of Iceland while unraveling the mystery of her long-lost sisters.

It is being adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by Finnish author Satu Rämö. Translation rights for the Hildur novel have been sold to over ten other European Countries, including Denmark, France, Sweden, Poland and Germany.

The head writer is Matti Laine (The Paradise), and the project is planned for three seasons with six 45-minute episodes each.

Filming of the first season is set to take place in Iceland in fall 2024. The first season is scheduled to be delivered in 2025.
