Sky Studios Inks Deals with Free@Last TV & Sagafilm

Sky Studios has entered into multiyear development and distribution agreements with the London-based Free@Last TV and Sagafilm, an award-winning Nordic producer.

Per the deals, Sky Studios’ commercial team will work with each of the production companies to co-develop scripted series for a range of international services. NBCUniversal Global Distribution will handle international sales on the projects.

Creator of Sky One’s popular Agatha Raisin series, Free@Last TV was founded by Barry Ryan and David A. Walton. The company’s slate also includes such dramas as Lonely Boy—The Benny Hill Story, Caleb Ranson’s The Women and the IP-based project The Flight of the Falcon, adapted by Christopher Villiers.

Sagafilm, founded in Iceland more than 40 years ago, is an independent producer of scripted, non-scripted, documentary and factual programming. Its Nordic hits include Stella Blómkvist, The Night Shift and Case; and its expanded slate features a raft of major drama and documentary projects at leading European, U.K. and U.S. networks such as The Minister and Thin Ice in co-production with YellowBird.
