Filming has begun on the third season of ITV’s Trigger Point, produced by Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television in association with All3Media International.
Across six episodes, the new season will see Lana Washington and her team investigate a bomb threat that reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta. The Bomb Disposal Unit must work alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit to capture the perpetrator before they claim their next victim.
Vicky McClure returns as Washington, and Eric Shango (On The Edge), Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights, Unforgotten), Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection) and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray, Landscapers) reprise their roles. Jason Flemyng (Gemma Bovery, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) will guest star.
The lead writer for the third season is Chris Brandon (Bloodlands), and it is being directed by Jamie Donoghue (Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches) and Audrey Cooke (Trigger Point, DI Ray).
McClure said, “Trigger Point is back! We’re all so excited to get going. Having had such a positive response to the previous two series, we want to make this new series even more exciting, keep everyone on the edge of their seats whilst getting to know even more about the brilliant characters in the show. Lana is such a complex character to play; it’s a joy for an actor to play a role with as many layers as Lana.”
