Filming Begins on Daniel Burman’s So Far So Good

Filming has commenced on So Far So Good, a new dramedy created and written by Argentinean filmmaker Daniel Burman and co-produced by Cimarrón and Oficina Burman.

Consisting of eight 30-minute episodes, the series delves into a comic book artist’s midlife crisis. Benjamín Vicuña (Vis a Vis), Rita Cortese (Wild Tales), Violeta Urtizberea (Envious) and Jorge Bolani (Whisky) are among the cast. The Mediapro Studio Distribution is handling international sales.

Additional cast members are Daniel Hendler (Community Squad), Andrea Frigerio (The Distinguished Citizen), Alejandro Awada (Yosi, the Regretful Spy) and Marina Bellati (Viudas Negras).

Direction is shared between Burman and Uruguayan actor and director Hendler (A Loose End, 27 Nights). The series is made by Burman alongside a team of several of his long-standing collaborators: Ariel Gurevich (Transmitzvah), Andrés Gelós (Maledictions; Yosi, the Regretful Spy), Pablo Gelós (Maledictions) and Eloy Burman.

So Far So Good is set to premiere on Flow in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

“The night before turning 50, I felt something new—as though I were a man ready to face a firing squad,” Burman said. “Yet the next day life went on with it—the weight of multiple children, parents in endless decline and the realization that this supposedly unique and magical moment is quickly consumed by the generations above and below. I wonder: When is it my turn? Middle age doesn’t bring certainty, only more weight: senile parents now dependent on us, children who never seem to leave home yet expect guidance, while we ourselves are utterly lost. Out of this context comes So Far So Good—the story of Arie, a newly minted 50-year-old navigating this stage of life with sharp humor and a deeply human perspective. A story designed not only to connect with audiences experiencing the same stage, but also with older generations, who might look on their children with a touch more compassion, and with younger ones, who still don’t know what awaits them.”
