Conker Pictures has appointed Nick Bedingfield as development executive and Sanaya Buhariwala-Collins as development assistant.

Bedingfield and Buhariwala-Collins will report to Tommy Bulfin and Kim Varvell, joint managing directors, and will work closely with writers and talent to develop a drama slate for U.K. and global audiences.

Bedingfield began his career at Scott Free before moving to DNA Films in 2019, where he was eventually promoted to development executive. At DNA, he helped develop multiple film and TV projects with the BBC, FX, Netflix, Searchlight, MGM and Film4, with a particular focus on emerging talent.

Buhariwala-Collins started her career as an in-house development intern at Independent Film Company and most recently worked at 42, where she completed an internship and then continued to assist the head of TV and executive producers.

Conker Pictures was established in April 2023 by Bulfin, previously a drama commissioner for the BBC, and Varvell, previously an Apple TV commissioner. It received funding from the Banijay UK Growth Fund.

“We are thrilled to have Nick and Sanaya on the Conker Pictures team and are looking forward to working with them as we grow our company and continue to work with some of the brightest and best creative talent in our industry,” Bulfin and Varvell said. “In our new home in the heart of Soho, we are confident that Conker has many great stories to tell over the coming years.”
