Newen Distribution’s Cassandre has been picked up by several European broadcasters, among them NBCUniversal’s 13th Street in Spain.

The police series has also sold to Paramount Channel in Spain and Italy, where the fourth season was recently acquired. Produced by Barjac Production and commissioned by France 3, the series has already been sold to RTS Switzerland, RTBF Belgium, Film Box Channel CEE and Ten Time Middle East and will be highlighted by Newen Distribution during MIPCOM.

The series follows Florence Cassandre, a sharp and skilled cop who is first and foremost a devoted mother. Cassandre goes against her best career interests and accepts a transfer so she can be near her son Jules, who’s been put into a high school for juvenile offenders. She takes over as the police chief in the town of Annecy, where her new colleagues take a haughty attitude toward their Parisian boss. Cassandre is afraid the slow pace in the sleepy town will leave her bored, but her preconceptions are quickly dashed as the crimes come rolling in non-stop.
