Carnival’s Jessica Pope Joins MOPAR

Stockholm-based MOPAR Studios has tapped Jessica Pope, who joins from Carnival Films, as its creative director of drama.

Pope will be responsible for consolidating the MOPAR brand, shaping its ambitions for the European and global market and leading its creative vision, in addition to overseeing production.

She will take up her role from February 1, reporting to MOPAR’s COO, William Diskay.

Previously, at Carnival, she was co-exec producer on The Last Kingdom season IV and V. Prior to joining Carnival, Pope was an executive producer for BBC Drama Studios and BBC North. Before joining the BBC, Pope worked as a deputy commissioning editor for Channel 4 Drama.

Diskay said: “Jessica is one of the most sought-after talents in British television, with extensive experience across all areas of production and a string of international hits under her belt. Her appointment is an important cornerstone of MOPAR’s growth strategy and ambition to drive English-language drama that has broad global appeal. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join the MOPAR family.”

Pope added: “I am thrilled to be joining Mopar Studios at such an exciting time in their growth and ambition. The European drama market is currently experiencing a golden period of stand-out television drama and I look forward to becoming a part of that community and contributing to its continuing success.”
