Batman Prequel Pennyworth Heads to StarzPlay

StarzPlay has acquired the drama series Pennyworth for the U.K., Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Latin America.

Jack Bannon (The Imitation Game) stars as Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier in his 20s who goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne, who’s not yet become Bruce Wayne’s father. The ten-episode drama series from Warner Horizon Scripted Television is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.

Pennyworth is the latest in a string of high-profile acquisition for the StarzPlay platform, with a portfolio that includes the anthology series The Act, the award-winning spy thriller Killing Eve and George Clooney’s Catch-22 in key territories.
