Asi Heads to Kanal D Drama in the U.S.

The Turkish drama Asi, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, is slated to premiere in the U.S. in Spanish on June 26 on Kanal D Drama.

The series, which ran for two seasons from 2007 to 2009, tells the story of the powerful Kozcuoğlu family, who own a huge plantation in southern Turkey. A man whose mother drowned while working for the family when he was a child returns to find out the truth and ends up falling in love with Asi, unaware that she is the daughter of the man who caused his mother’s death.

Asi was produced by Sis Yapim and starred Tuba Büyüküstün, who later went on to become the first Turkish actress to be nominated for best actress at the International Emmy Awards for another project.

The series will premiere on Kanal D Drama at 4:10 p.m. ET and will have daily premieres Monday through Friday on the Kanal D Drama app.
