Video Interview: Mohini Herse & Karen Radzyner on SBS’s Appetite

Appetite, a six-part miniseries for SBS On Demand, takes a deep dive into what gig economy workers go through on a day-to-day basis, with a mystery twist. When a food delivery driver dies on the streets of Sydney while on the job, an unlikely group of fellow drivers bands together to discover the truth behind the “accident” and expose the multinational food delivery behemoth they work for.

The series was funded by Screen Australia and Screen NSW and made its debut earlier this year at Canneseries as part of the short-form competition.

Mohini Herse, creator, director, writer and producer, and Karen Radzyner, producer on behalf of Photoplay, speak to TV Drama Weekly about the inspiration for the series, the deeper themes it explores and the potential for expanding the story.
