All the Sins Returns for Second Season

Elisa Viihde’s award-winning original series All the Sins is returning for a sophomore run, with production slated to begin in January.

The Finnish crime drama will be available on Elisa Viihde’s Aitio streaming service in fall 2020. Season two will take viewers back in time to the year 1999. With the new millennium approaching, there are causes for concern both in the secular world and in the conservative village of Varjakka, where a husband and wife are found dead in their kitchen.

Leading the criminal investigation is the senior constable of Varjakka, Jussi Ritola (Matti Ristinen), who is not afraid of the threats of the new age. However, the investigation soon throws Ritola’s stable life into disarray.

The new season of All the Sins is written by the award-winning Mika Ronkainen and Merja Aakko.

The series’ first season, which premiered on Aitio in April, was directed by Ronkainen and produced by Ilkka Matila of MRP Matila Röhr Productions.

The rights to air season one of All the Sins have been sold to over 30 countries so far. The drama will be seen in the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Korea and New Zealand, as well as other major territories.

The series has been produced in collaboration with Business Finland, the city of Oulu, Film Estonia and the Finnish Film Foundation.
