S4C Greenlights Season Two of Cleddau

S4C has commissioned a second season of the psychological thriller Cleddau (The One That Got Away), set to air in 2026.

Cleddau struck a powerful chord with audiences in both Welsh and English,” said Gwenllian Gravelle, head of drama at S4C. “It’s a gripping and emotionally intelligent series that showcases the very best of Welsh talent, both on- and off-screen. We are thrilled to bring the story back for a second season and deepen the world that Cath Tregenna has so brilliantly created.”

The series is created and written by Catherine Tregenna, produced by Blacklight and distributed globally by Banijay Rights.

Elen Rhys and Richard Harrington will reprise their roles in season two. In the series, when a body is discovered in Cleddau River, the team suspects a killer is stealing identities and luring women to their deaths through a dating website.

Banijay Rights handles distribution of the English-language version of The One That Got Away for international audiences. The production is supported by the Welsh government via Creative Wales.
