Ludwig Season Two Begins Production with Additional Cast

Big Talk Studios has begun production on the second season of Ludwig for BBC, with Mark Bonnar (Dept. Q) and Sian Clifford (Fleabag) joining as series regulars.

David Mitchell returns as John “Ludwig” Taylor, now a crime scene consultant working on “impossible” crimes for the Cambridge Police Authority. Bonnar stars as a newspaper editor, and Clifford plays a local MP.

The second season will pick up where season one left off, with Ludwig no longer having to masquerade as his brother—who is still missing. Ludwig is forbidden from using any police resources to look for his brother. That doesn’t stop him or his sister-in-law, played by Anna Maxwell Martin, from trying.

Additional cast members returning for season two are Dipo Ola, Dylan Hughes, Dorothy Atkinson, Ralph Ineson and Karl Pilkington. Ben Ashenden (Deep Cover, Black Mirror) and Rumi Sutton (After the Flood, Mutiny) join the cast.

Ludwig is produced by Big Talk Studios in association with That Mitchell and Webb Company, in co-production with BritBox and ZDF, for BBC. It is produced in association with ITV Studios, which handles international distribution. The series is created and written by Mark Brotherhood.
