Fifth Season Secures Global Presales for The Good Daughter

Fifth Season has secured a raft of presales for The Good Daughter, Made Up Stories’ adaptation of Karin Slaughter’s novel, in Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

“Bruna and the team at Made Up Stories have an unparalleled instinct for bringing page-turning fiction to the screen,” said Jennifer Ebell, executive VP of television distribution at Fifth Season. “After the success of Nine Perfect Strangers and The Last Anniversary, it’s a thrill to reunite for The Good Daughter—a gripping, female-driven crime drama that fuses family secrets, emotional gut punches and the kind of twists that keep you watching long past bedtime.”

The Good Daughter has presold to Sky in the U.K. and Ireland, Bell Media in Canada, Stan in Australia, Sky in New Zealand and HBO Max in EMEA. It was originally commissioned by Peacock in the U.S.

Starring Rose Byrne (Physical, Damages), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, The Perfect Couple), Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Harper Steele (Will & Harper), the thriller centers on sisters Charlotte and Samantha, who have spent 20 years trying to piece together their lives after a single night of violence. When another attack occurs, Charlotte—now a lawyer like her father—is the first witness on scene. As the case unfolds, it uncovers painful memories and buried secrets.

Slaughter serves as writer and producer. Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver executive produce for Made Up Stories (The Undoing, Pieces of Her, Wolf Like Me), along with Rose Byrne. Steph Green (Watchmen, The Americans) directs and executive produces all episodes.

The Good Daughter is set to premiere on Peacock in the U.S. in 2026.
