CJ ENM & Fifth Season Host MIP LONDON Session

CJ ENM hosted a special session at MIP LONDON with Fifth Season to examine the key drivers behind the global success of K-dramas.

Diane Min, head of Europe sales at CJ ENM, and Claire Takami Siljedahl, development producer at Fifth Season, shared their firsthand perspectives of sales performance, distribution strategies, creative development and cross-border collaboration. They also outlined approaches to localization, co-development and adaptation for European broadcasters and platforms.

“As producers, we’ve long admired the highly original storytelling coming out of Korea and have consequently been developing various projects with our partners in the CJ ENM group,” said Takami Siljedahl. “It’s exciting to see that as the global appetite for Korean content continues to grow, the opportunities for creative collaboration between Korea and Europe are growing as well.”

Min commented, “Over the past few years, we’ve seen a noticeable shift in how European buyers approach Korean drama. Conversations have moved beyond individual acquisitions toward longer-term collaborations and remake discussions. Europe is no longer an emerging market for us—it’s a core part of our international strategy.”

The session drew approximately 160 attendees, reflecting strong interest in the continued growth of Korean drama in Europe.
