HBO Max Picks Up Little Disasters for Select European Territories

Following a deal with Fremantle, HBO Max will premiere the screen adaptation of Sarah Vaughan’s Little Disasters in Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands in October, followed by France and Belgium later.

Starring Diane Kruger (Troy, Inglourious Basterds), Jo Joyner (The Wives, For Her Sins), Emily Taaffe (The Rising, The Beast Must Die) and Shelley Conn (Gen V, Alex Rider), the series centers on the shattering of four women’s decade-long friendship when one of them brings her baby to the hospital with a head injury she can’t explain, and another, an A&E doctor, must decide whether to call social services on her friend.

The decision Liz makes fractures and nearly destroys not only their families but their entire friendship group. The consequences of that night have a ripple effect on the wider group, as Mel and Charlotte are drawn into the investigation as the mystery behind what really happened threatens to break them apart.

Additional cast members include JJ Feild, Ben Bailey Smith, Patrick Baladi and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television executive producers Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Marianna Abbotts, along with Vaughan and Fremantle’s Simon Judd. Eva Sigurdardottir is the director.

Little Disasters originally launched in the U.K. and Ireland on Paramount+. Fremantle handles global sales.
