HBO Max Slates Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Premiere

HBO Max has slated the series premiere of its new Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, for December 25, 2026.

The series adaptation stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. It is written by Francesca Gardiner.

Gardiner also executive produces, alongside Mark Mylod, who directs multiple episodes as well. Additional executive producers are J.K. Rowling; Brontë Film and TV’s Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts; and Heyday Films’ David Heyman.

Season one follows the first book of the Harry Potter series. On his 11th birthday, Harry receives a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, opening up a whole new world for him.
