Dori Media’s Amia Debuts on Reshet 13

Dori Media Group’s action drama Amia, inspired by the ’90s terror attacks against the Argentinean Jewish community, has debuted in Israel on Reshet 13.

The eight-episode series follows a Mossad agent whose sister was killed in the attack on the Embassy in 1992. He teams up with a local Argentinean journalist to find those responsible.

In 1992, an explosion at the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires killed 29 people. Two years later, another attack occurred at the Jewish Community Center AMIA (Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina), killing 85 more people.

The series was filmed in Uruguay and Argentina and features a cast and crew of Israeli and South American talent. The cast is led by Michael Aloni and Malena Sanchez.

Amia is based on an original idea from Dori Media CEO Nadav Palti and Yair Dori. It is created by Givon Snir and Shuki Gur and directed by Guillermo Rocamora.

“About four years ago, during a routine conversation with Yair Dori, where we often discuss future ideas, the important yet untold story of the AMIA bombing came up,” Palti said at the series’ premiere event. “Until 9/11, it was the largest civilian terror attack in the Americas. We agreed it was essential for us to tell this story. But unlike most productions, we began without a broadcaster. Our deep belief in the project and the importance of this story—which had not yet been addressed in a TV series—was so strong that we decided to move full speed ahead.”

Palti continued, “Like every major production, especially on such a sensitive topic, we faced many challenges along the way. But these challenges only strengthened us, sharpened us and made us more professional, highlighting just how important it was for us to tell this story. Along the way, investors joined us, and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. And I want to thank Reshet 13 once again for recognizing the potential.”
