Eccho Rights has added two new titles from its parent company CJ ENM to its fall slate: High Class and Hometown.

High Class stars Cho Yeo-jeong (Parasite) as Song Yeo-wool, a successful lawyer falsely accused of murdering her husband. The accusation sees her ostracized by her peers and starts to affect her son’s life at his prestigious elementary school. One of the other mothers from the school offers her support, and Yeo-wool’s fortunes look to be lifting, but all is not as it seems.

Hometown is a mystery thriller, following a small-town detective whose investigation into a missing child leads him toward finally solving the case of his murdered wife, with a terrorist cell seemingly behind both crimes. The series stars Han Ye-ri (Minari).

“These are two of the most high-profile new series coming out of South Korea in 2021, and we are delighted to once more partner with CJ ENM on bringing K drama to a global audience,” said Fredrik af Malmborg, managing director at Eccho Rights. “Following the critical and commercial breakthrough enjoyed by Parasite in 2019, we are especially looking forward to seeing the international reaction to Cho Yeo-jeong’s next dramatic role.”

Sebastian Kim, director of content sales at CJ ENM, added, “We are happy to work with Eccho Rights with two of our most recommended series for the last half of the year. As Eccho Rights has solid experience for their specialized distribution of local language content, we believe that Hometown and High Class will reach a wider audience around the world.”
