Vanguarde Artists Management Launches Production Label

Vanguarde Artists Management has launched the production label Vanguarde Pictures and tapped award-winning playwright and television creator/showrunner Adam Pettle (Nurses, Burden of Truth) as in-house executive producer.

The new banner will extend the company’s artist orientation to develop scripted content for podcast, broadcast, cable, premium cable and streaming services.

Pettle’s credits include Nurses (Corus/NBS), Burden of Truth (CBC/The CW) and Saving Hope (Bell Media), among many others. He served as the lead creative for the Black Screen Office-sponspored anthology Festivale, currently in development with Bell Media. Most recently, he helped develop The Borough as a writing executive producer alongside show creators Shamier Anderson and Stephan James.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of Vanguarde Pictures and to expand our collaboration with Adam to develop and produce captivating stories for the screen,” said Tina Horwitz, founder and co-head of Vanguarde Artists Management. “This is a very natural progression for Adam and for us collectively. We’re lucky to have had some very rewarding relationships working with clients as producers, and we look forward to giving these efforts more oxygen.”

“Adam is an incredible creative talent who has an outstanding track record of mentoring other writers and creators as an executive producer,” Vanguarde Co-Head Jay Horwitz commented. “In addition to shared taste in incredible storytelling, we’re closely aligned with Adam as someone who has spent a career lifting up creative people. We’re excited to be working together in this new capacity and to see what we cook up together.”

Pettle added, “I’m inspired by the leadership and commitment that Tina and Jay continue to show me and the Canadian creative community. I’m grateful to be working with such soulful and smart folks, and I’m humbled to have their continuing support as incredible advocates and collaborators in Vanguarde Pictures.”
