Tricon Films & Television Restructures Distribution Arm

TORONTO: Jon Rutherford, the executive VP of distribution and business development, is leaving Tricon Films & Television, which has elevated Karthiga Ratnasabapathy to VP of worldwide sales and acquisitions.

Rutherford will officially resign from Tricon at the end of the week for a new position that has yet to be announced.

In her new role, Ratnasabapathy is charged with increasing the growth of the company's distribution and rights management business, in addition to supervising and expanding the distribution team. Since joining Tricon in 2013 to build on the company's digital distribution strategy, she has landed global content deals with leaders in the industry. Earlier in her career, Ratnasabapathy led the digital and transactional team at Entertainment One, where she developed and oversaw key agreements with VOD, EST, SVOD and linear partners.
