Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund Invests in 14 TV Projects

TORONTO: Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund has dispersed C$5.1 million ($5.17 million) to 14 television projects in its latest round of funding decisions.

Among the projects receiving funding are Bitten, from Entertainment One Television for Space; BrandMADE, from 2271169 Ontario Inc. for Canada’s Discovery Channel; and Code Breakers, from AP Codebreakers Productions for Vision TV and the U.S. channel Discovery Science. The group is also lending its support for second seasons of Continuum, from Timely II Productions for Showcase Television; Dangerous Flights, from Pixcom Productions for Canada’s Discovery Channel; and Fugget About It, an FAI 2 Productions show for TELETOON.

Omni Film Development is getting funding for a fifth season of Ice Pilots for Canada’s History Television. Galafilm Inc. has been awarded funding for National Park Mysteries, to air on the Biography Channel and Travel in the U.S. A second season of Pyros, from Pyros 2 Productions, will be supported for Discovery Channel in Canada.

Among the other programs that Rogers has confirmed equity investments in are Sensitive Skin, from Rhombus Media for Movie Central and The Movie Network, and The Last Place on Earth, from Adobe Productions International for Discovery World HD.
