Dany Meloul has been named general manager of television at Radio-Canada, taking over from Dominique Chaloult after a short transition period.

Meloul will assume her new position on October 10. She had served as Bell Media’s VP of programming for French-language TV since October 2015. In this role, she was responsible for scheduling, planning, acquisitions and original content for Canal Vie, Canal D, Z, VRAK, Investigation, Super Écran and Cinépop.

“I’m delighted that Dany has agreed to take on this new challenge with us,” said Michel Bissonnette, executive VP of Radio-Canada. “A highly respected leader in her field, Dany comes to us with deep knowledge of the industry at a time when business models are being turned on their heads by growing competition from the digital giants and changing consumption patterns among French-speaking audiences.”
