TORONTO: Canadian outfits Flying Cloud Productions and Mark Media have entered a partnership to produce a range of titles, including factual fare.

As part of the collaboration, the companies will develop two documentaries in the performing and fine arts categories, as well as an in-depth investigation on the controversial Confucius Institutes. Additionally, the pair is co-producing Bleeding Edge, a feature-length crime thriller now in post-production in Vancouver. The companies previously worked on the Peabody-winning film Human Harvest.

“We couldn’t imagine a better partner with shared values and complementary talents than Mark Media,” said Flying Cloud Productions principal Leon Lee. “Flying Cloud’s expertise in current events in China and telling stories that are both eye-opening and entertaining combines perfectly with Mark Media’s growing force in transmedia production and incredible team of artists and professionals.”

“Working together on Human Harvest, it was clear that there are many synergies between us, so it’s exciting to begin collaborating on other new projects with Leon and his team,” said Mark Media CEO Jason Loftus.
