MONTREAL/MONS: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Belgium’s Wallimage have renewed their C$600,000 ($400,000) joint incentive for digital media co-productions.

The fund, which sees each partner investing half of the total amount, will be distributed to projects developed by producers from both countries. The initiative is for digital interactive content that explores a transmedia approach to production while being innovative or experimental. Submissions for the fund are due September 1, with representatives from CMF and Wallimage making up the selection committee.

The first agreement between both groups in 2014 supported three co-productions through a financing package also totaling C$600,000.

“Renewal of this agreement underscores the CMF commitment to strengthening relations with Belgium,” said CMF president and CEO Valerie Creighton. “I would like to thank the Wallimage team, and especially their director, Philippe Reynaert, for their cooperation and support for this vision of fostering digital productions between our two countries. The success of the first agreement in 2014 makes it possible for us to carry on the work we’ve begun and offer new opportunities for our talented producers.”
