LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) and Pier 21 Films have signed a two-year first-look distribution agreement that covers the production across the company's entire slate of programming.

Pier 21 Films' slate includes the movie-of-the-week Jack, the two-part miniseries Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story II and the international co-production Treasures Decoded. The company, founded by Laszlo Barna, also has scripted and non-scripted TV series.

“We’re delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with the unique and powerful storyteller, Laszlo Barna. Under Pier 21, Laszlo and his team have built an exciting and innovative development slate and we’re looking forward to formalizing our partnership and collaborating on an international basis,” said Margaret O'Brien, the president for Canada and CEO of eOne Television. “eOne strives to be involved with the best producers in the country and Pier 21 will undoubtedly complement our strong portfolio with more great content from Canada.”

“eOne is the best distributor in the country,” added Barna. “They have an incredible sales team and a reputation for selling their products at all of the major international markets. They have tremendous reach because of their offices in Toronto, Los Angeles and London and given the financial challenges of today this first-look deal makes a lot of sense.”
