CMF Offers $1.9 Million to Projects in Diverse Languages

TORONTO: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is providing C$2.5 million ($1.9 million) in funding to ten projects in languages other than English, French or Aboriginal languages.

Of the ten projects, two are children’s and youth productions, four are documentaries and four are dramas. One is in Cantonese, one is Italian, five are Mandarin and three are in Spanish. All have a TV component and nine have a digital media component.

Since 2010, the CMF has provided C$11.4 million ($8.6 million) to 58 projects as part of its Diverse Languages Program.
