CMF Awards C$19.5 Million to Digital Media Projects

TORONTO: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has awarded a total of C$19.5 million ($14.7 million) to 31 interactive digital media projects.

As part of the second round of production support from the 2016-2017 Experimental Stream Innovation Program, 24 interactive digital media projects received a total of C$15.7 million ($11.8 million) in funding. The money was awarded to eleven games, six rich and interactive media projects, five software applications, one social media application and one video.

A C$3.8 million ($2.8 million) investment has been made for the production of seven projects as part of the Experimental Stream Commercial Projects Pilot Program. The projects include four games, two software applications, and one rich and interactive media project.

Including this latest round of funding, the CMF has invested more than C$170 million ($128 million) in the production of 290 interactive digital media projects since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010.
