Canamedia Makes New Hire

TORONTO: Canamedia has brought on Bill McGowan to lead the broadcast distribution and acquisitions team.

McGowan, who is currently a member of the senior management team at Magic Lantern Media, will join Andrea Stokes, the manager of international sales at Canamedia. Together, they will be presenting a slate of new series and specials at MIPTV, including Hellbound?, Saving the Ocean, Infidelity and Robot Warriors. McGowan’s new title is VP of global sales and acquisitions.

“Bill’s experience with content distribution in North American and international markets together with his excellent producer relationships developed over many years will help drive our Canamedia division forward,” said Doug Connolly, the president of Magic Lantern Media.

“I look forward to working with Andrea Stokes and building on the great work done to date for the producers we represent while connecting with old friends and making new ones in the broadcast industry,” added McGowan.
