TORONTO: Blue Ant Media is launching its distribution division, Blue Ant International, with 700 hours of scripted and nonfiction programming.

The company, which makes its debut at MIPTV, recently acquired the Si Entertainment distribution division, taking over representation for its catalogue of lifestyle and factual series. Programming highlights of the Blue Ant offering include Dog's Best Friend, which looks at "odd couple" pairings of canines and other animals; Nomads of the Serengeti, a show in 4K that follows a safari guide; and My Retreat, which visits places people go to escape their everyday lives. Also new to the market is Decks, Docks and Gazebos, a one-of-a-kind renovation show.

Blue Ant also highlights Live Here, Buy This!, in which people search for a new home in paradise, and Rebel without a Kitchen, featuring the boisterous chef Matt Basile and his food truck. Pick a Puppy documents the stories of families trying to find the perfect puppy as a pet.

“The launch of Blue Ant International is an integral part of the growth strategy for our company,” said Raja Khanna, the CEO of television and digital at Blue Ant Media. “In such a crowded marketplace we hope to stand out by focusing on superior service and by continuing to build a roster of top-tier content partners to create an industry-leading catalogue of high-quality programming.”

"I'm eager to showcase Blue Ant International’s fresh, collaborative approach connecting high-caliber content creators with international buyers to provide a 360-degree approach to rights exploitation,” added Solange Attwood, the senior VP of international at Blue Ant Media. “Our premium content will speak volumes to our international partners."
